Remember the proto-Clockworken-esque being made of coils of metal cabling that escaped from The Seekers prior to the final Endings battle? The one that purees the insides of its victims, leaving the skin intact, so it can wear it?
It sent us five ears as a present?
I couldn't find anyone else with eyes on it, so I went to see if I couple track it.
Not like following footprints, but following crimes.
Agent Slater spotted me coming to check out the records building (which is under repair, by the way) and redirected me to his office. Ended up giving me some files on area 'oddities' - they don't look like much separately, but together, it's a pattern that's hard to explain. He'd spotted it too; smart fella.
People who went missing and then were found or suddenly started fighting with their spouse after a long night out - that kind of stuff. The ones that suddenly decided to leave town afterwards are reported as going south.
For those that skipped geography - that's us.
If those ears were any sign, it remembers us 'fondly' and is likely to come looking our way out of some twisted sense or another.
I don't agree with Slater on much, but his warning to be careful who you trust is spot on. Be careful what you say and to who in the coming months and if someone who has visited us before is acting strange, don't ignore it.
